I am just a coin

You think you may know me
but i have two sides 

I may be small 

but I change peoples lives 

but remember i am a coin

If you look past my sharp edges 

I carry history of our states 

as i travel the world 

changing peoples live 

someone new comes along 

its just a surprise

but you must remember i am just a coin 

coming in different forms 

in my metal interior

Bronze, silver, copper, even gold 

with my small circular figure
 i carry values through life

people drop me everyday 

but someone new always comes along 

as a pocket becomes my new home 

it doesn't last long 

so come flip me over take your chance what could go wrong

A life is like a carnival. It's full of ups and downs and you have a certain amount of time to achieve your goals before time is up. "A Coney Island Life" by James L. Weil is a poem that compares life to a carnival. Life is like a roller coaster that keeps moving forward until it reaches a complete stop.
The poem states that " having lived a Coney Island life on a roller coaster of ups and downs". Having said that Coney Island is compared to life "roller coaster of ups and downs" is the achievements and dissapointments. The poem also states "seen my helium hopes break skyward without me". The helium hopes are like balloons. It's like watching your hopes and dreams drift away leaving you to the surface. The poem states that " now arms filled with dolls I threw so much more" It's saying that the dolls are like achievements that he has worked so harded for. Then he takes for granted thinking everything will come easily. The poem also states " I have to catch the brass - ring sun before the game is up". The brass - ring is like his goal he's trying to reach before he dies. Through the metaphors the poet compares Coney Island to life. Life is like a roller coaster that keeps moving forward until it reaches to a complete stop.
